Putnam repeats with Southern All Stars at Isom

This past weekend the cars and stars of the Southern All Stars series rolled in to the mountains of Southeastern Kentucky and Visited Mountain Motorsports Park in Isom, KY. 15 Super Late Models would sign in for the 40 lap $4000 to win show. Josh Putnam, won the last SAS race at Thunderhill Raceway, would be the quickest qualifier in Group A while Stephen Breeding was quick qualifier in Group B. Josh Putnam and Brandon Fouts would take home heat race victories setting the field for the 40 Lap Showdown in the mountains. Putnam and Fouts would lead the field to green with Putnam jumping out to the early lead with Tyler Carpenter following in second. Caution would fly on lap 13 as Shannon Thornsberry would collect the wall in four ending his night. On the restart Putnam would jump out to the early lead until lap 16 when the outside pole sitter Brandon Fouts spins. Putnam would once again jump out to the lead on the restart. On lap 21 Billy Franklin would slow with a flat tire bringing out another yellow. The green flag would wave again and once again Putnam jumped out to the lead until lap 29 win Thunder Raceway owner Jason Walker spins bring out a caution. On the ensuing restart would jump out to the lead but this time Ryan King would take the runner up spot from Tyler Carpenter and would start to mount a challenge on Putnam until lap 32 when Ryan would spin and Justin King would hit the parked Warrior house car. Putnam would lead the final 8 laps of the Walter Peg Memorial to pick up his fourth career SAS win.
