Labor Day Weekend Tripleheader Ahead for Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series
(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) Nearly $60,000 in purse and bonus money is on the line this upcoming weekend in the states of Georgia and Tennessee, as the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series presented by Franklin Enterprises invades three different venues in as many days from August 29-31. Up first will be a visit to Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia, Georgia on Friday night for the annual ‘Brad York Memorial.’ A $4,004 top prize will be up for grabs at the historic Peach State facility to kick off the holiday weekend triple shot.
On Saturday evening, the dirt-slinging action will quickly shift to the high-banked Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee for a single-day shootout that will boast a $4,000 winner’s check. A short trip up the road to the bad-fast Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, Tennessee will then greet both fans and competitors on Sunday, as a $5,000 payday will be on the line in the 17th edition of the ‘Buddy Rogers Memorial.’
With thirteen SAS events already in the books during the 2025 season, Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer Ronnie Johnson currently finds himself atop of the latest point tally. Michael Luna, Dillon Tidmore, Billy Franklin, and Kendall Franklin currently sit in positions 2-5 in the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series point standings. At the end of the season, only the driver’s best 18 finishes will count towards the final version of the Championship standings.
Super Late Model body rules and the Droop Rule will be the same as those agreed on by both the World of Outlaws Late Model Series and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series - among others. Additional rules including engine and weight rules can be found online at www.SASDirt.com. The entry fee will be $120.00 each night and transponders will be available to rent. Any driver not advancing into the feature field will receive $50.00 in tow money.

In addition to the feature purse money, drivers competing with the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series presented by Franklin Enterprises will also be vying for several bonuses at Lavonia, Bulls Gap, and Tazewell.
