Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series Invades State of Alabama for Doubleheader Weekend
(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series presented by Franklin Enterprises action heats back up in a doubleheader on May 16-17 in the state of Alabama. The opener on Friday at West Alabama Speedway in Winfield, Alabama will boast a $4,000 payday, while Saturday’s weekend finale at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, Alabama will shell out a $5,000 first place prize. Billy Franklin, of Calera, Alabama, will bring the SAS point lead into the weekend, as he finds himself on top of the point standings by forty markers over Joe Denby.
In the ‘Rumble in the Sandbox’ on Friday night at West Alabama Speedway, the gates will open at 5:00pm, the drivers meeting is set for 7:00pm, and hot laps will follow shortly thereafter. Adult admission will be $20.00 into the grandstands and $40.00 into the pit area. Kids ages 7-11 will be admitted into the stands for only $10.00 and into the pits for only $15.00. Children ages 6 and under will be allowed onto the grounds for FREE.
Joining the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series on the card at West Alabama Speedway will be the Factory Stock ($750 to win), Mini Stock ($500 to win), Buzz 4 ($500 to win), and Open Wheel ($500 to win) divisions. West Alabama Speedway is located at 10697 County Road 49 in Winfield, Alabama and the track phone number is 205-275-2855.
On Saturday evening at North Alabama Speedway, the pit gates will swing wide open at 3:00pm and the grandstands will start to allow patrons into the facility at 4:00pm. The drivers meeting is scheduled for 6:00pm and hot laps will take to the racetrack shortly thereafter. Grandstand admission will be $25.00 for adults and $5.00 for kids ages 6-11. Pit admission will be $40.00 for adults and $15.00 for kids ages 6-11. Children ages 5 and under will be allowed onto the grounds for FREE.
Along with the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series in action at North Alabama Speedway, the 602 Late Model, Modified Sportsman, Factory Stock, Mini Stock, and Buzz divisions will also light up the racetrack. North Alabama Speedway is located at 12200 Highway 247 in Tuscumbia, Alabama and the track phone number is 256-577-9097.

Body rules and the Droop Rule will be the same as those agreed on by both the World of Outlaws Late Model Series and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series - among others. Any driver not advancing into feature events will receive $75.00 in tow money.
